Emmett L. Jones, Ph.D., is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist who received his Masters in Rehabilitation Counseling from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1985 and worked in private practice before pursuing a Masters In Clinical Psychology and a Ph.D. in Multicultural Community Clinical Psychology/Program Development at The California School of Professional Psychology in Los Angeles CA. in 1998. He has had over 30 years of clinical experiences in a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings He has had clinical experience working with all ages but specializes in treating adults with depression, anxiety, PTSD, grief and loss, relational issues, along with persons who have physical disabilities and chronic pain.
He utilizes an eclectic approach of therapeutic treatment modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems and other traditional therapeutic approaches. He believes it is important for a therapist to understand not only the diverse cultural aspects of their clients but also their world and religious views as a foundational context for an effective therapeutic relationship. His passion and research focused on the psychological well being among evangelical Christians and he makes available to his clients a Faith-Based/Spiritual Integrated Approach combined with other therapeutic modalities that best suit his clients needs.
